Rural Disaster Resiliency Project (RDRP) Core Research Team

Who are we?

The core research team is a dynamic group of people, with a wide variety of expertise, skills and cross-cultural backgrounds, brought together by a common interest in community disaster resilience.

The Core Research Team members technical knowledge and expertise includes the following areas:

  • Emergency management
  • Population health
  • Disaster Psychology & Sociology
  • Resilience
  • Rural extension education
  • Natural resource sciences
  • Gender analysis
  • Community-based research
  • Project management
  • Leadership

What do we do?

The Core Research Team provides scientific leadership and oversight for the Rural Disaster Resilience Project.

  • Scientific/Technical members of our project team contribute to:
  • Design and development of the integrated risk assessment & management framework
  • Indicators for community disaster resilience
  • Research methodology and techniques
  • Community engagement strategies for knowledge exchange
  • Education/training curricula
  • Research presentations and publications
  • Operations/Administrative members of the team are the “glue” that hold our project together. They provide us with:
  • Office coordination
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Project monitoring and reporting
  • Maintenance of project networks and communications
